About Mission Revenue Group

Founder-led advancement counsel for nonprofits ready to grow with clarity, discipline, and stronger donor focus.

More About John

John Miller is a nonprofit advancement leader with decades of experience in major gifts, foundation relationships, donor strategy, board engagement, staff coaching, and revenue growth.

He brings the perspective of someone who has carried the number, sat across from donors, built proposals, coached development staff, worked with boards, and helped leaders make practical fundraising decisions under real pressure.

John’s approach is direct, practical, and relationship-driven. He believes sustainable revenue growth happens when mission, message, donor trust, board engagement, staff execution, and disciplined strategy are aligned around the work that matters most.

Throughout his career, John has worked across the full fundraising cycle, including donor cultivation, solicitation, stewardship, grant and foundation strategy, campaign planning, staff coaching, and advancement performance management. His work is shaped by real conversations with donors, real pressure to grow revenue, and real experience helping organizations focus on the activity that actually moves relationships forward.

John is also the author of Alcohol + Tears = Dollars, a practical fundraising book on the human side of generosity, donor trust, and real-world fundraising. The book reflects the same philosophy that shapes his consulting work: fundraising is not just about asking for money. It is about trust, clarity, courage, timing, and helping people connect what they care about with a mission that matters.

If your organization needs practical advancement counsel from someone who has been in the seat, John can help.

Built for Nonprofits Ready to Grow With Clarity

Mission Revenue Group was created to help nonprofit leaders strengthen revenue strategy without losing sight of the mission that makes the work matter.

Many nonprofits are not short on passion, effort, or good intentions. Their teams are busy. Their boards care. Their donors believe in the work. But revenue growth often stalls when strategy, messaging, board engagement, staff execution, and donor focus are not fully aligned.

Mission Revenue Group helps organizations move from scattered fundraising activity to focused, sustainable revenue growth.

We provide advancement strategy, fundraising counsel, board engagement support, donor messaging, staff training, team accountability, and fractional CDO guidance for nonprofits ready to grow with more clarity and discipline.

A Practical Fundraising Philosophy

John is also the author of Alcohol + Tears = Dollars, a practical fundraising book on the human side of generosity, donor trust, and real-world fundraising.

The book is not the center of Mission Revenue Group. It is part of the philosophy behind the work.

Mission Revenue Group brings that same practical, honest, relationship-driven approach to advancement strategy, donor engagement, board leadership, staff development, and sustainable revenue growth.
